#9 Boneyard, Leicester

Image
Our Order Lemonberry Tart £7.50 Kozel £4.20 Snatch - Pork £9 Asian Double Beef Burger £10 Lamb Tobasco Fries £4.50 £35.20 9/10 We headed over to Boneyard on the day of their new menu launch (19th April). We've walked past this place time and time again and finally decided that we'd give it a try. We were initially impressed with the atmosphere and vibes - they had a live DJ in house and an a dark interior which was lit by fairy lights and LED slogans which we love. The drinks list is pretty impressive as the shooters and cocktails they offer are completely different to a lot of places we've been before E.G Peanut Butter Jelly Shooters & Lemonberry Tart Cocktail. It was the warmest day of the year so we wanted something refreshing to drink. I went with the Lemonberry tart cocktail which was to die for. It came with 2 raspberries and a slice of lemon and whilst the colour was muted vs a lot of cocktails, the taste was so sweet it made up for the appearance of it...

#8 Boo Burger, Leicester

Image
Our Order Boo Burger (UP!) £11.50 6oz Added jalapenos & pickles (free) Chips Strawberry Milkshake Smoky (UP!) £9 4oz Chips Peanut Butter Milkshake Buffalo Bites £4 Total £24.50 8/10 We drive past this place every day when going home from work so thought we'd finally give it a try for you guys and overall, we were pretty happy with everything! We did have to wait slightly longer than 20 minutes for it which is why it didn't score as high as it could have but the taste reallllly brought that score back up! They give you the option of 4oz or 6oz on every burger and they use 2oz patties so depending on what you order you'll get either 2 or 3 patties in your burger but you do have the chance to add more for £1.50 if you want. Personally, we really loved the thin patties. They were cooked perfectly and if you're like me and get bored when eating burgers cause they're too thick then this place is gonna be great for you. I went for the 4oz Smoky and i...

#7 Beanies Flavoured Instant Coffee

Image
Cookie Dough Nutty Hazelnut Amaretto Almond Cinder Toffee Double Chocolate Very Vanilla 3 for 2, £2.49 each £2.49 P&P £12.45 Ordered through www.myvitamins.com (Not sponsored) I ordered these as a surprised for Jed knowing that he is an absolute fiend for coffee and wanting to get him something different. I was really excited to smell them as soon as they arrived but I had to wait for him and it was SO worth it. They all smell exactly like the flavour they're suppose to be. My personal favourite as far as smell is the Amaretto Almond and Jed's is the Nutty Hazelnut as it smells just like Nutella. I'm not a coffee fan so the only one I've tried is the the Cookie Dough and in all fairness, I feel like I could actually drink it. They have all smelt awesome when I've walked past and Jed hasn't drank any other coffee since I gave these too him so they can't be too bad! Beanies also have a bunch of other flavours like Coconut Delight, Irish Cream, ...

Unicorn Cake Recipe

#6 The Three Swans, Market Harborough

Image
Our Order 3 for £11 Mac and Cheese Bites Mini Sausages in Honey & Mustard Mediterranean Bread Selection Pork Belly £15 Fish & Chips £14 San Miguel £4.30 £44.30 9/10 Back to Market Harborough this time, where it all began and again, we weren't disappointed. When you first walk in, it looks like a tiny little pub but as you walk through the first door, it looks like the restaurant goes much further back. However there appeared to be an event going on so we didn't look further into just how big The Three Swans is. As we were waiting for our food, we were flicking through our Instagram feed and all the food we could see made us think we were going to be disappointed with what we had ordered. This wasn't the case. The first pickies came out together and whilst they didn't look like much, we devoured them. The mac & cheese balls came with a tomato sauce which was so different to a ketchup which is why I don't think I can call it a ketchup. Either ...

#5 The Head Of Steam, Leicester

Image
Our Order Garden Citus £5.70 Kriek Boon Lambiek £7.50 Hot & Spicy Pepperoni and Chilli Pizza £9 Full Head Of Steam Burger £12.95 £35.15 10/10 Our first 10 out of 10! Not only just on this blog but for us generally in a very long time!  Originally, I thought this was a one off restaurant but they are in fact a chain that can be found just about all over the UK, including Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds & Huddersfield which makes me a little more happy to be honest. The Leicester branch opened on the 5th and we went in on the 6th and immediately fell in love with everything from the decor to the music. To start, the drinks menu is incredible, organized by country with descriptions for every beer so you know exactly what you're going to get. As we always like to get something different, I'm never too sure on what Jed orders but I went for the cherry beer from Belgium which was delicious. Then the food. Quick out of the kitchen (we were starving so this ...

#4 The Naughty Egg, Canterbury

Image
Our Order The Cheeky Pig - Bun £6.80 The Naughty Burger - Wrap £6.80 £13.60 9/10 So over the Easter weekend, we made a trip down to Dover just to get away for a couple of days and decided to stop in Canterbury for some breakfast on the drive. We stumbled across a tiny little place called 'The Naughty Egg' while adventuring round some side streets and we were honestly so impressed! For saying it's a breakfast menu, the choices are amazing and you have the option to have whatever you pick in a bun, wrap or bagel which personally think is a really nice touch. The Cheeky Pig consisted of a sausage patty, bacon, egg, cheese, sriracha mayo and rocket and I only had one bite of Jed's burger and it was incredible but I have to say, nothing compared to my wrap. The Naughty Burger had a beef patty, egg, cheese, crispy onions with ketchup & mustard in a wrap and oh, my, god. It was the best breakfast I have ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly on both orders and th...

#3 The Smoke Haus, Birmingham

Image
Our Order Donut Burger £13.95 Threesome Plate £20.95 Babyback Ribs (1/2) Briskett Quarter Chicken  Pit Gravy Choco Butter Nightmare Milkshake £4.95 Brooklyn Pint £4.90 Sam Adams £4.80 Total £51.50 7/10 We popped in here before seeing Fall Out Boy at The Arena in Birmingham and were pleasantly surprised. We were almost against coming in as we thought it looked like a chain but after looking further into it there are only 4 in the UK: Swansea, Cardiff, Bristol & Birmingham. To start, the milkshake was to die for - an even mix of peanut butter and chocolate but what really made it was the peanut butter smothered around the rim topped with what I believe is crushed digestive biscuits. Amazing! I went for the threesome plate in order to taste three of the meats but they do offer a twosome plate at a lesser charge. For me, the ribs were the best thing on the plate after the pit gravy which is in a league of its own. The BBQ flavour was delicious and there was plenty of ...

#2 The World Bar, Resorts World

Image
Our Order Steak Burger £9.25 Leifmans Fruitesse £4.90 Einstock Pale Ale £5.40 £19.55 6/10 Last weekend we made a trip over to Resorts World opposite the NEC in Birmingham. After wandering round for an hour or so we decided to get ourselves a small lunch so popped into The World Bar. As soon as we walked in there were really good vibes and we struggled to find a table but fortunately, we were in luck. We initially were taken back by the alcohol choices and I found myself a cherry/raspberry beer whilst Jed got himself a pale ale which he’d never tried before. Both were delicious and the choice of drinks were impressive. However we were slightly underwhelmed by the food and the slow service. We shared a burger which was just an average burger which we waited close to 30 minutes for which is probably what made us so underwhelming. We also spotted that on a busy Saturday afternoon there was only one waitress serving door. Having never ate there before I couldn’t tell you ...

#1 Meatcure, Market Harborough

Image
Our Order New York, New York £11.25 Rocky Balboa £12.75 Jalapeño Bites £2.50 Bubblegum Shake £3.95 Freedom Pale Ale £3.95 Total £34.40 8/10 So our first review is the place where this idea began: Meatcure in Market Harborough. Unfortunately as we didn’t think the entire thing through, I don’t have an image of our food so I have had to pick one up off google, my apologies. So we picked a pretty bomb place to start. This was our first time visiting Meatcure and it was quite something to behold. As well as the service being nothing short of golden, the food was pretty awesome. I picked the Rocky Balboa burger which was a burger patty, topped with beer pulled chicken. My only let down with my burger was it was slightly too well done for my liking but the chicken was incredible. Very juicy and full or flavour. Jed picked the New York, New York which I had slight food envy of until I tasted mine. His also had the beer pulled chicken but was topped with melted cheese, bacon, past...
