We Quit

Well, long time, no see! You read it - we quit. After months and months of deliberation, we finally did it. We’re spending the next 7 months travelling round Asia and then we’re moving to CANADA! At this moment in time we’re gearing up for the adventure of a lifetime and we’re excited to take you with us! We’ve created an entire Instagram that is going to be dedicated to our travels and you can follow it on @otterstravels. We’ve been thinking long and hard about what we want our travel vlogs and IG to consist of and we think it’s worth getting excited about! We would love to hear from you guys about what you would be interested to see while we’re out and about too. Otters Kitchen will remain fully in tact and we will be incorporating that into our videos along side our everyday adventures. Edinburgh is going to be our first stop. Our Order River Phoenix £9.50 (Double cheeseburger, bacon, shoestrings onions, Frazzles, red chilies, Redneck BBQ, Bacon Bacon mayo, Smoky Bacon Ketchup) DTF £10 (Extra thick juicy patty, double American cheese, bacon, wonder onions, smoky bacon ketchup, dijon mustard, peppered mayo, pickles) Chilli Cheese Tots £5.50 (Tots, cheese, beef chilli, hot sauce, sour cream, jalapeno, onion) £25 8/10 After struggling to find Almost Famous on the Saturday, we were sure to find the place on Sunday. We had checked the menu on the Saturday and we were really excited to jump into it, especially after feeling the vibes as soon as we walked through the door. It wasn't too busy but you could feel the buzz. We struggled to settle on something for a while but my heart was telling me to go for the River Phoenix immediately purely for the Frazzles - I really wanted something different. Our Order: Thighs, Blue Cheese Sauce, Salt & Pepper Chips £12.50 Double Mac £16 ( Two buttermilk chicken breasts, sandwiched with mac n cheese, crispy bacon, Dr Pepper BBQ and cheese sauces. Topped with two Dr Pepper BBQ wings.) Extra Buffalo Sauce £1 £29.50 9/10 After wandering round for about half an hour, looking for Almost Famous, we had no luck so we headed into Yard & Coop instead.  The place was filled to the brim and had a great atmosphere (and an ever better drinks menu). The variety of beers they offer is something and there was also a good few options for cocktails too. Both had nothing on the food menu though. Making a decision of something to eat was so hard as we both wanted everything on the menu, especially after seeing the food coming out of the kitchen. Jed has been eyeing Mac & Wild up for the longest time on Instagram and seeing as we were finally coming to London, we gave it a go. It immediately had a really fun vibe and we loved the industrial theming of the restaurant. Not to mention the music was amazing. We decided there was too much on the menu to miss out so went for their Venimoo burger to share as well as the Wilderness chips, venison scotch egg and haggis pops on the side. With over 30 burgers on the menu, this is really THE place to be. We got to Annie's at about 12:15pm and the place was already heaving. The atmosphere of the place was really good - the music was fun and you could just sense that everyone was having a good time. After a while of flicking back and forth through the menu we finally settled on our choices. First of all, I have to mention how good the Jolly Rancher cocktail was. Our order: Dark Plate, Reg £12.50 Guerilla Fries £2.50 Philly Cheeseburger £12.50 Amaretto & Coke £4.45 Wild River PT £5.50 £37.45 9/10 After arriving in Nottingham, we were pretty damn hungry and knew we were in for a big night so we popped into Red Dog Saloon for a bite to eat. Immediately, the service was great. We were seated in the bar area so we had to go and order our food but it really wasn't an issue. Before we get into the food, we just want to say that this place was initially a 10/10 but once we compared it to everything else we ate that weekend, it just wasn't on par. Red Dog was amazing, it just so happened that everything else was even better. I went for the Dark Plate of Southern Fried Chicken which consisted of 2 legs and a thigh. It was seriously yummy. Pizza Punks was the first place we saw so we headed straight in and we did not regret this decision! We got there at just the right time as they'd been turning people away but just happened to have a table by the time we arrived.
