We found this place at what was the end of Temple Bar for us. We walked past it a few times before deciding to go in for something to munch down on and it was a great decision. It wasn't too big as upstairs wasn't open so we sat at the bar for our food. Obviously, we had to order a Guinness each and I did ask for some blackcurrant in mine but it was a Guinness none the less.
As if the full pint wasn't enough for me, I ordered the Beef & Guinness pie because again, I obviously had to and it would've been rude not to. Another shortcrust pastry that I actually really enjoyed. It wasn't hard and overcooked at all, it was really soft and the flavour of it really complimented the filling. The beef was also paired with onions which were cooked so well that you couldn't tell they were there and they also didn't over power the flavour which I find can happen a lot and make the pie unbearable. I didn't realise it came with mash and not chips but I wasn't annoyed about it all!
Now, Jed's steak. An on-the-bone steak plated on top of a bed of onion mash and vegetables. It was huge and impressive from the moment you set eye on it. Then he put his knife and fork in the steak and it just fell of the bone. It was cooked to perfection and within minutes Jed had it clean off the bone. Mixed with the vegetables and mash everything worked together so nicely.
We honestly can't find anything wrong with this place!
We would completely recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere to eat within the Temple Bar area. It has good vibes without being as loud as some of the other places.
