We don't even know where to begin with this place. Easy one of the best places we have ever eaten. We walked in and were pre-warned that there was a group of 30 guests so we may be waiting which wasn't a problem to us and turns out there wasn't a wait either. It seemed like there was only two waiters working but the customer service was still great. Nothing to complain about from the minute we sat down. Everything from the menu & prices, to the decor & music was right!
I went with the Raspberry Beret to drink which was a cocktail that sounded completely up my street from the first word - Vodka, Triple Sec, Raspberries, Cloudy Lemonade & Lemon Juice. Say. No. More.
I went for the classic Steak & Kidney pie because you can't go wrong with it and boy, was I right. The pastry was cooked perfect, almost like a cross between flaky & shortcrust - I don't know what it was but it was right. Paired with mash & peas, it was just everything right with a pie and mash shop.
Jed went for one of the Christmas pie's - the Mistlemoo pie: Beef Steak, Bacon & Port. Whilst it's not too dissimilar to a steak and kidney pie, you could really tell the difference in flavours. The Mistlemoo was rich compared to the Kate & Sidney and just gave that little bit more. Jed also went for The Mothership meaning his pie came with mash and topped with minty mushy peas, cheddar & shallots and it just made his dinner even more indulgent.
I'm going to say it again... everything was right!
We can't rate this place high enough and we're very excited to go back!
