We decided to drop by Fusion as we were seeing David O'Doherty on Saturday night wanted to try something around the area. We found Fusion online and we're lured in by the Ocean Burger due to it's pink bun.
We really liked the atmosphere of the place as the rugby was on TV and it was really calm. The menu gave plenty of choice and I was stuck between the wings and chicken balls before settling on the chicken balls. In all honesty, I don't know what we were expecting taste wise, but the menu and the photo of the Ocean Burger we're enough for us.
Jed went with the Ocean Burger and I did have a bite but it really wasn't for me. Topped with Asian slaw & curried mayo, they were just flavours that didn't mix well with the tumeric salted battered fries. I didn't hear any complaints from Jed and he did demolish the thing so I can only assume it was me not liking so I'm really not sure if I'd recommend it or not.
For me, the chicken balls were good, but no better than your regular chinese take away and I feel like Jed and I could make better rice - it tasted like microwave rice.
The salt & pepper fries were a real plus though. We thought they were going to be chunky chips but they were the skinny fries and topped with plenty of salt & pepper, they were really good.
Overall, it was nothing more than University food. Good value for money and decent portion sizes but the taste wasn't something to bring you back for more.
