Yet another meal where I didn't pick up the receipt so my apologies but I do remember that our meals where on a 2 for £12 offer and I'm certain the total came to £20.40.
We go past The Coach And Horses on a daily basis but we've never been in and after our trip to Bali & Manila, we were craving some good old English pub grub (despite the fact Jed went for the lasagna). Thankfully, that's exactly what we got.
The Coach And Horses is a snug little pub in Kibworth, Leicester and it's definitely worth visiting as we found out. Good service from the get go and throughout and the food came quickly. I was hesitant when I saw that my pie was a shortcrust pastry as I don't normally like it and I prefer the flaky pastry. But I tucked in I'm so glad I went with it. It was delicious. A thick gravy inside with tender beef and the pastry was crunchy but not too hard. I believe the pie normally comes with mash but I asked for fries and it was a good choice! Classic homemade chips that are so fluffy on the inside!
I had a couple of bites of Jed's lasagna and I almost wished I had picked that instead of my pie. We were both saying how normally the ragu sauce of a lasagna can completely overtake the flavour of the dish but it really didn't in this case. You got the flavour of everything that had been put in that bowl.
We highly recommend both dishes and The Coach in general!
Thank you for some good grub!
