After a (very) quick search on Instagram for somewhere to eat in Reading, we knew we had to come to 7Bone. It was just round the corner from our hotel so it was absolutely perfect for these starving otters. Once we walked through we door, we loved the industrial feel of the place. It almost looked unfinished but it gave really good vibes. The menu left us struggling to make a decision because everything looked amazing so after many mind changes, we finally ordered. I can tell you know, we made great choices.
Jed's Triple B burger was delicious. Whilst we both thought the meat was going to come a little bit pinker than it did, it was still nicely cooked. There was still a hint of pink in the patty but either way, it was a really sold burger. The Triple B comes topped with blue cheese, bacon, bacon jam and truffle blue cheese dressing and it made for a proper, solid burger. Everything worked together really well and you could taste it all in every bite. However, my burger was better.
The Dreadlock Rasta. A buffalo fried piece of chicken, covered with hot sauce, melted cheese, shredded iceburg & dirty spread. It was delicious. There was a real kick to it which obviously came from the Buffalo chicken and hot sauce but it wasn't too over powering. I could still taste the everything rather than being over powered with spice and it just made for a completely delicious chicken burger.
Whilst my burger was better than Jed's, his fries absolutely killed it. The steak chilli, again, had a kick to it without being too hot to taste anything. A mix of the chilli, cheese, mustard and jalapenos made for a great topping to the fries that were delicious without having anything on them. I had left my fries to the end without pouring the gravy on so the cheese hadn't melted and the beef didn't have much flavour but that's all my own fault and they were still really yummy.
Overall, an incredibly eatery. You could easily share a Basket deal and go for a couple of drinks (their cocktail menu is a good'un too) or just go for an absolute feast and not be disappointed by anything you put in your mouth!
