My apologies, I didn't collect the bill from this eatery so I can't give you an accurate pricing. After wandering around the Spanish section of Manila on our day of arrival, we happened to stumble upon this place thanks to Jed looking around whilst I was ready to plonk myself next door. What a mistake that would've been. The reason I wasn't able to pick up the bill is because they allowed you to write down your order and place it at the counter when ready which is something I thought was really cool.
The food came as it was ready and we weren't quite sure what to expect with anything to be honest.
The Takoyaki was prepared and cooked outside and came to us relatively quickly. We cut them open, having no idea what was inside them and for both of us, on the first bite all we really got was vegetables but mixed with the mayo and sauces, it was nice. We then noticed that there was a small piece of octopus in the other half so tried the other one whole. It was delicious. The meat mixed with all the vegetables made them absolutely delicious.
The spiral potato was something that I've had before but it wasn't a sour cream flavour. Personally, for me it was slightly too salty but Jed really didn't have a complaint for it. They piled the sour cream seasoning on top of the potato so there was plenty of flavour and it was consistent throughout the potato but it was very strong.
Then the pork teriyaki. I was expecting something in a sauce but that wasn't what came. Finely diced pork with a serving of rice and it was a really nice addition to the two other dishes as they could only really be classed as starters/sides. For both of us this time it was just a bit too salty. Everything else was great. When you got past the saltiness from the pork, the flavour of it was so good and we're both absolute rice fiends so all in all, it was a good dish.
If it wasn't for the saltiness of a couple of the items, this wholeheartedly would be a 10 out of 10. If you ever happen to stumble across this little bistro in the middle of Spanish Quarter, Manila, we would highly recommend jumping in!!
