#24 The Newsroom, Edinburgh

Image
Our Order Ron Burgundy £8.25 Joker IPA £4.85 Steak & Guinness Pie £13 Haggis, Neeps & Tatties £10 Total £36.10 8.5/10 We walked past The Newsroom on our first day in Edinburgh, coming from our hotel to the Royal Mile. We looked at the menu and thought it looked good but we'd just got there so needed to go and explore first! The next day we were watching something in the VooDoo Rooms and the best option for our time limit was to go to The Newsroom. The vibes were really good in there, high energy & a modern look. It was full every time we walked past so they're clearly doing something right! I went for the Ron Burgundy cocktail, Ron Zacapa 23 Centenario Rum, Cherry Marnier, Mozart Dark, Chocolate Liqueur, Aztec Dark Chocolate Bitters & Maple Syrup. I went for this thinking it would be sweet but also knowing that I was going out on a limb because I like more fruity flavours than sweet. I was right. Whilst I appreciate that this is probably a really good...

#23 The Coach And Horses, Kibworth

Our Order Apple & Raspberry J2o Stella Beef & Ale Pie - 2 for £12 Lasagna - 2 for £12 Chips Total £20.40 (I think) 10/10 Yet another meal where I didn't pick up the receipt so my apologies but I do remember that our meals where on a 2 for £12 offer and I'm certain the total came to £20.40. We go past The Coach And Horses on a daily basis but we've never been in and after our trip to Bali & Manila, we were craving some good old English pub grub (despite the fact Jed went for the lasagna). Thankfully, that's exactly what we got. The Coach And Horses is a snug little pub in Kibworth, Leicester and it's definitely worth visiting as we found out. Good service from the get go and throughout and the food came quickly. I was hesitant when I saw that my pie was a shortcrust pastry as I don't normally like it and I prefer the flaky pastry. But I tucked in I'm so glad I went with it. It was delicious. A thick gravy inside with tender beef and th...

#22 Bloque 7 Cafe, Intramuros, Manila

Our Order Takoyaki, 4 pc With Japanese Mayo, Piso 39 (£0.56) Pork Teriyaki, Piso 79 (£1.13) Spiral Potato (Sour Cream) Piso N/A Vanilla Frappe, 16oz, Piso 80 (£1.14) Starwberry Frappe, 16oz, Piso 80 (£1.14) Total N/A 9.5/10 My apologies, I didn't collect the bill from this eatery so I can't give you an accurate pricing. After wandering around the Spanish section of Manila on our day of arrival, we happened to stumble upon this place thanks to Jed looking around whilst I was ready to plonk myself next door. What a mistake that would've been. The reason I wasn't able to pick up the bill is because they allowed you to write down your order and place it at the counter when ready which is something I thought was really cool. The food came as it was ready and we weren't quite sure what to expect with anything to be honest. The Takoyaki was prepared and cooked outside and came to us relatively quickly. We cut them open, having no idea what was inside them and f...

#21 Stadium Cafe, Kuta, Bali

Our Order Bintang Small 33K (£1.74) Bintang Radler 35K (£1.84) Champ Burger 98K (£5.16) Mie Ayam 62K (£3.27) Tax 24,054 (£1.27) Service 12,540 (£0.66) Total 264,594 (£13.94) 8/10 We were really feeling the vibe of this place because of the live music that was playing and the sports vibes it was giving so we headed on in for some Western(ish) food. Bintang's were a standard for every meal whilst we were in Bali as they were cheap and refreshing so we highly recommend these to everyone! Jed headed straight in for a Champ Burger. I can't seem to find the menu online and I don't exactly remember what was on this burger but I do know (thanks to the photo) that it had cheese, bacon & an egg on it. I'm also certain, because we were in an Australian bar and restaurant, that the patty was made from wagyu beef. However, what I DO remember is that it was a really good burger! The beef was well cooked and all the toppings complimented each other greatly. If I rememb...

Our Order Mini Brekkie 40K (£2.11) Dod's Classic 49K (£2.59)      +Cheese 8K (£0.42)      +Egg 5K (£0.26)      +Fries      +Fanta Total 102K (£5.39) 10/10 We actually ate here twice but the first time we went in, Jed was too hungover to actually eat anything. The first time, I ordered the cheese burger and turned it into a meal deal with fries & a drink. Jed originally ordered the Bonzer! Burger which was a fresh beef patty, bacon, egg, melted cheese, mushrooms, pineapple slice, tomato, iceberg lettuce, and Dod’s special relish ranch sauce and whilst it looked absolutely amazing, it wasn't eaten. Not even a bite. Mine however was completely delicious. High quality ingredients, well cooked just makes for a great burger. The next morning we went in for lunch and I ordered the Mini Brekkie which is Two eggs, hash brown, bacon, tomato. Again, delicious. I find it hard to get a Full English w...
