We timed our adventure into here quite well! It's a tiny little venue and it seems like pot luck to get a seat but at the same time, the staff are helpful enough to get tables cleaned up and ready for waiting customers as soon as they possibly can. Despite how small crowded the restaurant looks, once you're seated, you're not really on top on one another so it doesn't make too much of a difference.
Let me just jump right in and tell you how good the food is. I love fried chicken (when it's done right) at the best of times so I fell in love with the first bite of chicken. Jed isn't as bothered about chicken as I am but even he loved this place. The food came quickly despite the place being rammed and the service was good.
The Chick'n Waffles was exactly that. Chicken & Waffles. 5 sizable pieces of chicken on 2 clearly homemade waffles with cinnamon butter & maple syrup on the side. It was perfect tbh. I'm not big on homemade waffles but these were great. Really fluffy and the flavours, despite being very opposite to the chicken, paired with them really well. Every mouthful was delicious and I ate until I physically couldn't eat anymore.
Jed's burger came stacked high, just how he likes it. Their famous fried chicken, topped with a fried egg, smoked bacon, swiss cheese & hot sauce. Sounds like a hot mess but was even better than mine. You got a different flavour in every bite. It really was something else. The egg wasn't runny but thats not a complaint - I can only imagine how messy this thing would be if the egg was runny. I managed to swindle 2 bites out of this thing and but bites were different so it's far from a boring burger!
We completely & utterly recommend this place and if it's full when you get there then it's worth waiting for!
Thank you for being beautiful, Lucky Fox!
